In the course of their investigations into Schrödinger's Cataclysm, the Rogue Trader's forces and the Brethren of the Tenebrous Shield have both encountered the same band of Kroot mercenaries on numerous occasions. Known as the Drekh'li Kinband, they appear to be tracking the armada.
The Kroot seem unlikely to have any personal interest in the investigation but are surely receiving recompense for their activities. This of course begs the question: who is their patron?

As the investigations progress, the epithet 'Bane of Barfunweltz' has been rising in prominence. Many suspect - and fear - that it refers to some manifestation of the Ruinous Powers.
