V - Battlefleet

[This chronicle is best read from the beginning.]

Because of the nature of its mission and its lack of a home world, Schrödinger's Syndicate is necessarily entirely accommodated aboard the starships of her armada. This comprises an unusual mixture of vessels, based on those ships which were present in orbit at the moment of the Catechism, mainly Navis craft which had been overseeing the arrivals and departures of the pleasure world's visitors.

No heavy industry had been permitted on the surface of Barfunweltz-2 in order to preserve the pristine environment of the pleasure world and maintain its edenic image for its visitors. Products which were uneconomical to import had been produced on massive orbital factories. Most of these vessels, along with waste processing ships and various other industrial hulks became part of the refugee fleet.

Most of the people evacuated at the time were of course off-worlders who simply returned home in their own vessels. Likewise, the various merchant vessels that witnessed the event were quick to leave the area. Also, those pleasure cruisers present that belonged to Barfunweltz-2's most wealthy citizens, swiftly retired to their second homes on other worlds.

Consequently, Schrödinger's remaining fleet is not especially large and mainly comprises craft used by the military, alongside a few industrial hulks. Naturally, the Navis forces under Lady Schrödinger's command are particularly vital for her enterprise.

Hadduk, Sergeant-at-arms

Famed throughout the battlefleet is a unit of brave navy breachers under the command of Sergeant Hadduk, known as the Marlinspikes, and granted the heraldic honorific of a fish. When the Rogue Trader needs to fight a boarding action or explore the dark recesses of a space hulk these brave men and women come into their own.

The moment I noticed the old fashioned diving suit vibe of these models I knew my paint scheme would have to be based on this image by Hergé:
